Mononoke Hime

This week I was introduced to an anime called Mononoke, it's shown as a terror kind of anime and it's graphics are quite peculiar.
After starting to watch the anime, I decided to look for the meaning of Mononoke in japanese culture and found this amazing movie from Studios Ghibli. I absolutely love their movies and this one wasnt an exception.

The movie is from 1997 but you can't say it has bad quality because of it. I wouldnt put this movie to be watched with kids but some parents said they let so it's their choice. The history is insteresting and it has a beautiful message.I loved everything about the movie, so it's a big 10!

So, what is Mononoke?

I've searched more about it since I couldnt find something alike with the Mononoke anime and the Princess Mononoke movie.

Mononoke is a word used for spirits or monsters. Some people say it refers to vengeful or angry spirits and monster or those who, somehow are feared by the others. The most used term for monsters and spirits is yōkai, not mononoke. So, according to Wikipedia, the word mononoke is used when inanimate objects and spirits of humans and other creatures are together, as a creature. In the movie they also call the girl "Princess Wolf" because she lived with wolfs and thought she was one of them.

What about Kodamas?

Kodamas are spirits that live on some trees and can be seen or heard when somebody dies. This is the simplest explanation of it's meaning. To know more about them here is a detailed history :Kodama, the tree spirit.

These cute creatures were all over the movie and every time they appeared I wanted to grab one and take home.
Guess I'm not the only one in love with them! There are like a lot of pictures of Kodama's plushs, draws, decorated stuff (like shoes and earrings) and toys !!

If you wanna buy one cute kodama like those, here's the etsy store I found:Princess Mononoke Kodama Plush Toys.

**Please remember that Japanese culture is so vast that we cannot say for sure that's the one and true meaning, it would take a long research and we wouldnt be sure anyway**

And you may have figured out that Hime means Princess in Japanese *-*

I found the Mononoke Princess quite cute so thought about some looks would be nice to pretend you are her or what she would use if she didn't live in the forest at this decade.

Princess Mononoke nowadays look

  • Headband. The princess was wearing a purple headband so cute that I couldn't forget!

  • Then here are the clothes!

This fake two-pice blouse
The fake two-piece blouse in black

Or this cute Black Vest with the White Shirt or the White Coat, matching with a nice black skirt.

And the last look, this set with the large black blouse and tight stripped one (it's just one product)

  • For the shoes I though it would be nice boots.

And don't forget the Crystal Pendant Necklace! You can buy one or even do it at home!
What do you think of my choices? Do they look like something she would wear?

-I know, I know this post was very big and I appreciated who was strong enough to read it all haha-

Most pictures were found on google, the clothes and the boots are from Wholesale-dress.com

Cruise : A big floating hotel in the middle of the sea.

A few years ago I went on a cruise trip with my family and that's what I think about it, cruise is really like a hotel in the middle of the sea.

First of all, I've never seen a ship that big so I became very excited when I got at the port. But I still had a lot of thoughts that I would die just like in Titanic (To forget this kind of ideas I decided to imagine all the beautiful butterflies and awesome things I could ever find).
My room was a two beds one, right in the middle of the ship ( I was on the middle of the floor and not on the last floors or the first ones). The localization was quite nice, because I didnt hear the mess happening at the pools and didnt feel helpless or too low downstairs..The only thing that I disliked about the room was because it was in the middle it had no windows and I felt very suffocated.
What you can do in a cruise (at least the one I went):

  • Eat
  • Continue in shape or get in shape
  • Shop
  • Relax
  • Play
  • Party
  1. Eating: There were a lot of coffee areas and a couple of restaurants, near the pool there was always things like icecream or french fries. All the foods are beautiful and tasteful ,hmmmm.
  2. Continue in shape: If you cant live without your daily fitness you can run or join other people at the fitness center, I thought it was very well displayed.
  3. Shopping: Inside these ships there are very cheap stores on, with things that you may not find in ordinary stores from your country by that price, with daily stuff you may have forgotten to buy and with cute souvenirs.
  4. Relaxing: You can relax at the spa (paying of course), at the pool and the jacuzzi* (only allowed for adults) or in your room.
  5. Play: There are some activities during the day by the pool and near the lobby and there are the playrooms and casinos (Underages can't go in)
  6. Party time:
-Nightclubs: There were two nighclubs, one for the kids (under 17) and one for adults. Well, the kids one is really for kids..teens didnt go there because it was a tiny room playing songs that wouldnt make them dance.
-Concerts or plays: Every night the costumer could watch a diferent kind of concert, very well played right before or after the dinner.

*I found it very uncomfortable because it was always too crowded and looked like someone had pissed inside there, try to go at times with no demand or arrive early.

It's a very pretty place to stay but for some people (like me) it can be nauseating. I had to take everyday a pill not to feel dizzy.I wouldn't go again, although it was very nice and I enjoyed a lot. Recommended to those who like to stay at their hotel for a long time and like to see the sea, because that's exactly what it means to go on a cruise.
A cute little thing made with towels I found everytime the lady cleaned the room *_*

Tsubasa Imamura!

------------------

Have you ever heard about Tsubasa?
She has some videos on youtube playing several Brazilian songs with her sweet voice and cute Japanese accent. It's very interesting to see the girl singing in Portuguese (and perhaps embedding phrases of the Brazilian song  in Japanese) such as listening one of her own Japanese songs.
It is worth checking her youtube and if you enjoy her sound as much as I do, like the facebook page to receive information and learn more about his musical path. (The link to youtube is the end of this post)
From what I got, there are two ways to buy her cd if not the paid music download: buy in Japan or buy at a given site on facebook it here in Brazil.
I'm definitely in love with this singer's voice, so should you :)

Xoxo, have a nice day.

Hello ghosts :D

My very first post and I'm really looking foward to do this right. I've had a lot of blogs that didnt work at all (because I was too young and changed my mind very quickly lol).My name is Lanna and I'm a college student from Brazil :)

This time I decided to do something that really bothers me and it's about stuff I want. My closet is a mess of nothing in the style I wanted to be and I don't really have one yet but I love to keep in touch with art , world subjects and fashion. So, this blog is more to keep a record about my achievements too hahaha

See you.
